Adoptable

There are currently no special bulldogs up for adoption

This section tells you about the life of mares, when they are sterilized and donated to families who are eligible to adopt them from the Buck And Sons kennel. In opposition to the indifference of incorrect information, often tendentious, always by incompetent people, we intend to show and make you known through the testimonies of the families who have welcomed our mares.
When we choose a puppy from a litter, among all its sisters, so that it remains with us and becomes the progenitor of a breeding line, we know it must have precise characteristics: an iron health, be very typical and have a character. balanced. These are the peculiarities that we look for in the bulldogs we select and therefore it is absolutely necessary that the parents have them.
Sometimes not all donuts succeed with the hole and so some females who have never given birth are given up for free adoption, (such as Buck And Sons Marisa or the multi-champion Buck and Sons Nonna Abelarda), others who have done so only once and so on. On the other hand, some turn out to be amazing breeding and give birth several times.

In the selection it is necessary to make choices; the mathematical average is not a winning choice. If I had all the bitches give birth three times in their lifetime, mathematical average, maybe I would have more litters than I do, instead there are different females who give birth once or twice, while very few are those who give birth five times.
But selection is not done like this; the selection involves skills and choices, often painful from the breeding point of view.
An example for everyone: the adoption of our super champion Buck And Sons Ikesha is in these days. Italian champion in six races; in five of these he obtained the title of best of breed, ENCI top dog. There are very few champions who can boast such a fast and top-level career.
This little dog has given birth only once, at the age of three. Although it was of a stratospheric beauty, we preferred to remove it from our breeding program, since in our opinion it did not have the requisites to improve the breed and we donated it. Anyone can understand that we could have sold it, making a great profit considering its stocks.

Some time ago, however, the adoption of Buck And Sons Nonna Abelarda, best young man born and raised in Italy, young Italian social champion, Slovenian social champion, pluricac and pluricacib. She was given as a gift at the age of two and has never given birth. A problem arose, for which giving her an anesthesia could be risky. For this reason, we decided not to put it in danger and we separated from it, with great regret for the breeding goals we had set for ourselves. It is easy to understand that even this beautiful champion could be sold at a good profit. Instead, we donated it to those who will certainly never give her a litter (we could not sterilize her due to the aforementioned anesthesia problem). There are little dogs that, although beautiful, are not suitable for breeding and consequently are not used in reproduction, although bringing them on display all over the world has cost a lot in terms of money, time, work and effort, or are tested and then discarded by the reproductive program.
Conversely, there are some little dogs that certainly do good to the breed because they are excellent reproducers and these give birth as many times and in the manner that the law allows and that their state of health indicates to us: to me, to all the veterinary staff who they take care of my breeding, to those who deal with animal welfare called by law to control us.
All this to say that the farmer is always called to make choices and that mathematics has nothing to do with ethics. Ethical is, from my point of view, having the clear objective of improving the breed, breeding never regardless of the state of health of the breeders, and having the courage to eliminate from reproduction even dogs in which we have believed a lot, for which we have spent a lot. , not only in money, but above all, in dreams.
